The role: Software Engineer, Business Applications

As a Business Applications Software Engineer, you will help develop solutions to meet the needs of different product and business groups at Google. Using the same technologies and infrastructures that power all Google products, you will be writing applications "in the cloud" for enterprise business customers. You should be an experienced application developer. You must have the ability and interest to work with a variety of technologies to solve problems, and must have a background that demonstrates this ability. Positions are available at all levels.

• Build web-based applications, including front-end (user interfaces) and back-end (services), that automate business processes.
• Write tools used to process large amounts of data.
• Develop and implement technical designs.
• Drive test and deployment processes.

• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Several years of large systems software development experience, or client application development.
• Experience building Enterprise applications is a plus.
• Strong programming skills in Java or C/C++ and extensive knowledge of Unix/Linux and scripting skills (Perl, Shell, Python, XML).
• Coding skills in Python or JavaScript/AJAX, database design and SQL, and/or knowledge of TCP/IP and network programming are a plus.
• Solid knowledge of development methodologies and project life cycles.
