10 months Student Placement with Performance Quality Engineering team (DUBLIN)
An 10 month intern placement for a software engineering student is available in the Oracle System Performance team based in Dublin Ireland. The Performance QE group is chartered with maintaining Oracles' Systems group performance lifestyle. It is responsible for the performance test and analysis of all major features of Oracle Solaris and Systems products working closely with the global development community to maintain our performance leadership for the entire Oracle Software/Hardware/Virtualization stack. QUALIFICATION:
An 10 month intern placement for a software engineering student is available in the Oracle System Performance team based in Dublin Ireland. The Performance QE group is chartered with maintaining Oracles' Systems group performance lifestyle. Ideal start dates are: June 2012, July 2012 or August 2012.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage the installation and maintenance of local servers ensuring they are in sync with the latest versions of our software.
- Work on automating Oracle Solaris installs to ensure we have development and QA environments as soon as distributions become available.
- Develop automated benchmarks.
- Run and maintain specific automated test suites for both desktop and other teams to whom we are providing a test service.
- Implement new test workflow processes to streamline our test cycles.
- Help integrate automated test scripts with our test cases management tools.
- Contribute to selected development projects.
- Studying towards a Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent degree.
- Experience of UNIX or Linux Operating Systems is preferable .
- Experience developing software in an open source community or as a spare time activity is desirable.
- Scripting: bash, ksh, PHP, Perl, Phyton, etc.
- Development languages: C, Java .
- Good communication skills.
- Critical thinking and analytical skills .
- Results orientated, and ability to manage priorities is also expected.
- Organized and detail oriented.
