Junior Consultant – Tax and Utilities Global Business Unit based in Portsmouth

The Junior Consultant will join the TUGBU and play an important role in the current implementation at SSE. Following this project, the candidate may be engaged in various projects across the EMEA region. The candidate must be flexible regarding travel and working away from home. Initially this role will be based in the UK.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Forming part of the implementation team, the candidate will participate in the design of practical and creative solutions in a way that solves business problems, in conjunction with and guided by Functional Architects.
• Capture and understand the client’s business requirements and specify system, application or process designs in a way that include client personnel and executives so that an implement-able and cost-effective solution design is produced.
• Assist with documentation and testing of the solution.
• Assist in the testing of the designed solutions.
• Assist in the definition and design of solution parameters and specifications.
• Assist and document the function design process.
• Document technical/semi technical design specifications, including: Business requirements, Functional Specification, Technical issues (coding constraints, Performance), Key test Criteria.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• This vacancy is open to fresh graduates to candidates with up to 2 years experience.
• Degree from a top University in IT, software engineering, software programming etc..).
• An analytical and methodical approach to problem solving.
• Willing and ability to learn and develop within our organisation.
• IT soft skills such as word and excel a must-have.
• Power point and ms-project are a plus.
• Business course is a plus.
• Software Development Lifecycle experience is preferred.
• Good written and presentation skills.
